Our regional chair is our representative and voice on a national level. We are always open to questions or suggestions of how we can communicate with and support our members.

Ko Victoria ahau, I am a māmā of three Tamariki, a Kahu Pōkai and am really pleased to be able to serve as the Regional Chair of NZCOM.  Taking over from the legacy of all of Suzi’s hard mahi.  This committee is an awesome group of people who I look forward to working alongside, to support our regions workforce and community needs.

Hi I am Jess Maxwell, a mama to 16th month old twin girls. I have been on the NZCOM Core Committee since 2019. I have been the treasurer for a few years now which means I have a good understanding and experience of the regional finances at a time that would be helpful for the new incoming chair to be able to support them in their new role. I also work at Capital, Coast as MQSP Coordinator, as well as for MERAS as a union organiser.

Hi I am Fiona Coffey, the education representative on the NZCOM core committee. I have over 30 years of midwifery experience and have a Master’s degree in Midwifery, with a focus on workforce development and simulation in education. I look forward to helping my colleagues with education and sustainability support.

Tēnā koutou, ko Anahera Ngatai tōku ingoa. I am an LMC in Porirua and I whakapapa to Ngati Porou and Tainui. I am passionate about improving health outcomes for whānau Māori and look forward to working collaboratively in the NZCOM space to promote equity and wellbeing for Māori.

Pasefika Midwifery Representative

Penina Fitisemanu

Talofa lava, my name is Penina Fitisemanu and I am the Pasefika Midwife Representative for the Wellington Region for all LMC and Core Pasefika Midwives as well as Pasefika students. I am a NZ born Samoan, raised in Wellington. I trained as a Midwife in Australia in 1997 and have been a LMC since 1999.
